"Very tiresome" - that's what Hubert Jonser always felt when he had to arduously go around the borders of his carefully mowed lawn once again with the lawn trimmer.
The passionate hobby gardener had looked for something "simple, clean and durable for the borders so that I didn't have to destroy my beautifully landscaped garden with digging and foundation work or even using chemical weed killer."
He found - nothing. So the trained mechanical engineer sat down at his drawing board at home in Fürstenfeld in south-east Austria and invented something himself: "Clever Edge - the lawn edge."
The basic element is a steel sheet with barbed hooks protruding down at right-angle. You place it on the ground, press the small barbed hooks into the soil - and your first element is already installed, without tools or foundation. The edge can be driven over with all mowers up to lawn tractors and can be extended as required. As the element is rounded at the front edge, not only straight lines, but also curved lawn borders can be realised.
Further variants have also been created. For example there is the Snail Edge slug and snail barrier, the Light Edge with LED spot or indirect lighting or the growth-protection Fence Edge which prevents weeds growing under fences. And in the age of smart gardens, an extra wide variant for the robotic lawnmower is also a must.

Clever Edge is available as galvanised steel sheet in the standard variant. However the product can also be provided in a coated version and in custom-made versions. Manufacturing is in Austria.
Jonser made use of the contacts he had met in his over 20 years of sales experience in the large-scale metal industry in order to find a suitable location - "with great potential in order to also be able to manage large quantities," he says. "And above all: I know the people involved and know that despite the size of the company we are flexible enough to respond to customers' requirements."
He will need this flexibility too, because in the meantime the company has established contacts in the Austrian and international DIY and garden centre industry. This was made possible by his appearance at the Spoga+Gafa in Cologne (Germany).
