The overall market for windows in Austria went down by 0.6 % by volume in the year 2000, although the individual product groups developed in very different ways. Whereas PVC windows were able to achieve slight growth of 2.9 % once again, the market for wooden windows has again lost considerable ground, recording a decline of 11.9 %. A survey by InterConnection, the Vienna-based management consultancy, shows that sales of aluminium windows are down by 5.9 %, which also contributed to the negative overall balance sheet.
