The Italian company Inda has been marketing the Aquasanit brand in the self-service sector since 1993. The range includes 15 series of bathroom fittings in metal that cover all price and style categories. There are also six glass shower enclosures in the middle and upper price segments, in addition to five lines of modern-design bathroom furniture as knock-down articles.The “Light” series concentrates on clarity of design and especially small fixing plates.The major sales areas for Aquasanit products are Italy and France. However, the company also exports to Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Austria and Germany as well as Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. This year should see Russia and Bulgaria opened up as new sales areas. The company’s trading partners include Bauhaus, Baumax, Bricocenter, Castorama, Gamma, Leroy Merlin, Obi, Praktiker and Praxis.Aquasanit has recorded uninterrupted growth since its market launch. Last year the company achieved sales of € 13.9 mio, with exports accounting for 62 per cent of the total. The bathroom accessories series are the mainstay of sales, accounting for a share of 65 per cent. Another 18 per cent share is achieved by shower enclosures, and 17 per cent by bathroom furniture. Looking to the future, the company will continue to rely on controlled growth. As Friedhelm Schönenborn, commercial director DIY, explains, “Further goals include the permanent implementation of strikingly designed innovative products, the application of country-specific marketing measures and an even greater orientation towards the provision of services.”“Easy-Fix” can be attached to tiles with double-sided tape and silicone, making drilling superfluous.The company’s innovative strength is demonstrated by this year’s presentation of new products. New to the programme are three blister-packed accessory lines in chrome-plated brass, plus “Happy”, the two-tone series of bathroom furniture with base units in light cherry and matt white doors with satin-finish handles. Designed in a modern style, “Trend” is a series offering 15 articles, and the “Easy-Fix” series offers eight. The latter is fixed in place by means of double-sided tape and silicone without drilling into the tiles.
