German DIY retailer Bauhaus continues its expansion in Scandinavia with new openings in Sweden and Denmark. Today, 8 July 2022, the company opens its 22nd location in Sweden in Växjö, around 400 km south of Stockholm. Its total area of around 13 500 m² includes a 3 000 m² drive-in and a 3 200 m² garden department with an outdoor area of around 1 000 m².
In addition to sustainable construction, the company highlights a new type of waste separation system. It facilitates the return of materials into the production cycle.
Just a fortnight ago, on 24 June 2022, Bauhaus opened its 19th shop in Denmark in Sønderborg. The city is located near the German-Danish border. The new store has a sales area of 14 500 m² including drive-in and stocks more than 120 000 products. Bauhaus also speaks of a clear focus on sustainability in this new building and mentions a solar system on the roof, LED lighting and an expanded waste separation system.
