The significance of Israeli manufacturers for the international DIY market is again being made evident at this year’s International Hardware Fair in Cologne. The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute has once more organised a group stand where famous brands will be represented alongside a number of newcomers. One important figure in the tool and DIY market is Red Toolbox, a company specialising in tools for children. These are fully functional articles that are ergonomically designed to suit a child’s physique. Included among the new products to be displayed in Cologne is the Projects range with a current total of some 40 different kits. Each kit contains the materials needed to complete a certain DIY project. The choice ranges from a nesting box to a billiard table and even a go-kart. Kapro is another international name. This manufacturer of spirit levels and laser levels, layout tools, plus marking and measuring tools, can look back on more than 30 years of experience in the industry. It is regarded as one of the leading innovators in the global marketplace. To give an example: one of the most recently launched innovations is the company’s red bubble vial, which provides greatly improved visibility. Tefenplast has specialised in clamps for the most diverse requirements. These products are marketed either under the Gator Clamps brand name or as private labels. They include combination products like Clamp N Spread, which a single click can change from a clamp to a spreader, or the patented Clamp N Cut, a saw guide and straight-edge with integral clamps that is suitable for cutting to size materials such as laminate. Another tool manufacturer, WPW, aims at a target group of professional users in the timber and plastics field. Among its specialities are miniature bearing bits that can be used to create the most diverse edging profiles even on small workpieces. An important representative of the plastics industry, which has grown up in Israel especially since the seventies, is D. F. Omer. The company has specialised in developing garden products, from planters through to raised garden beds as well as tumbling composters. Special attention is paid to packaging and presentational solutions that guarantee trouble-free functioning in the retail sector.
