The Swedish retailer Clas Ohlson increased sales in the second quarter (August – October) of the group’s financial year by four per cent to SEK 1.678 bn. Sales in the first half of the business year amounted to SEK 3.184 bn, which was also four per cent more than the same period last year. The growth came mainly from new openings, and amounted to only one per cent in like-for-like terms. The strongest growth was recorded by Clas Ohlson in Finland from May to October: an increase of 15 per cent. The company grew three per cent in the Swedish home market, leading to sales of € 1.474 bn. The company had 181 stores in operation at the end of October, 75 of them in Sweden, 64 in Norway, 30 in Finland and 12 in the United Kingdom.
