After a four-and-a-half-year break due to the Covid pandemic, the International Hardware Fair in Cologne opened its doors on Sunday, 25 September. Around 1 400 exhibitors from 50 countries are presenting their new products and innovations. The range of products for the DIY trade is concentrated in Hall 11.1, in particular along the DIY Boulevard which, with 60 international exhibitors and a length of 272 metres, is bigger than ever.
The influx of visitors on the Sunday of the fair was somewhat more restrained than at the opening of the entrances on the second day of the fair. Nevertheless, many exhibitors report great interest, especially on the DIY Boulevard, from foreign visitors with whom they have already held in-depth discussions at a qualified level on the first day. In general, the exhibitors report good discussions with consistently qualified discussion partners who are looking to obtain information at the stands. In addition to DIY decision-makers from South Africa, German buyers, for example, were also there. Buyers from the German DIY trade and especially from the circle of BHB members were expected by the exhibitors to be in Cologne yesterday and today in particular.
