Double-digit growth for Wickes in the third quarter

A 17.3 per cent increase in sales in the third quarter has been reported by the British retail group Travis Perkins for its retail division and the Wickes home improvement chain. Like-for-like sales growth was 18.3 per cent. Overall, the performance for the first three quarters of the year was less than satisfactory on account of the store closures in the spring caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. While like-for-like sales in the retail division were 0.2 per cent below the figure for the previous year, sales as a whole were down by 0.6 per cent.
