Hong Kong meeting-place
Intersource Hardware Asia will be open for business in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14 to 16 April 2005. Approximately 200 exhibitors from China, Taiwan and other Asian countries such as India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Thailand will be represented there. On display will be their ranges of hardware, tools and DIY products. The last event of this kind attracted 6 500 international trade visitors.
The organisers also expect a high foreign contingent at the coming fair, since a number of trade associations are organising group packages that also include company visits and seminars. Buyers from more than 40 countries have already made clear their intention to attend the show. Visitors will also have the opportunity to continue on to the Canton Trade Fair in Guangzhou, which is due to open one day later than Intersource Asia in Hong Kong.
Gateway to the Arabian market
The Big 5 Show – the 25th Middle East International Building & Construction Exhibition – took place from 20 to 24 November 2004 in the Dubai World Trade Center. This is the most important building fair in the Arab world, which has been notching up double-digit increases on an annual basis. This year’s event, with around 1 650 exhibitors from 58 countries, recorded growth of 24 per cent for a total of more than 33 500 trade visitors.
More space
The international building trade fair, Construmat, will be open for business in Barcelona between 11 and 16 April. The overall exhibition space of 145 000 m² exceeds the size of all the previous events of this kind. The fair will be staged on two different locations: at the Gran Vía exhibition centre (61 000 m²) and at the Montjuic exhibition site (84 000 m²). The expectation is for 2 350 direct exhibitors coming from 50 countries to participate at the event.
More exhibitors, fewer visitors
A total of 43 500 specialists from all over the world (2004: approx. 46 000) came to see the groundbreaking innovations, practical demonstrations, creative product displays and integrated interior design concepts presented over a net area of 89 544 m² in twelve halls by 1 226 exhibitors (2004: 1 185). According to information provided by the fair organisers, the exhibitors held successful sales talks and prepared the ground in Hanover for more post-fair business than ever before.
