Fat increase for Bunnings

The Australian home and garden improvement retailer recorded a 15.5 per cent increase in operating revenue in the 2006/07 financial year

Bunnings, the Australian home and garden improvement retailer, can look back on a successful 2006/07 financial year (to 30 June 2007). The home improvement division’s operating revenue of Aus $ 4.94 bn (€ 2.94 bn) was 15.5 per cent higher than the previous year’s figure. EBIT rose by 25.6 per cent to Aus $ 528.4 mio (€ 314.5 mio). At the conclusion of the year the division encompassed 155 Bunnings warehouse stores and 65 smaller format stores in Australia and New Zealand, as well as three HouseWorks stores in Western Australia. The group also includes eleven trade distribution sites and eight frame and truss manufacturing sites. New openings in 2006/07 came to 16 DIY stores, 13 of them warehouse outlets, and one trade distribution centre. Plans for the current financial year envisage between 10 and 14 new warehouse stores, and the refurbishing of around 30 outlets.
