Flourishing Sagaflor

The specialist retail cooperative announces an increase of eight per cent for last year. This year it is clearly in the black again

Sagaflor increased sales last year by eight per cent. As reported at the annual general meeting of the specialist cooperative in Baunatal, this growth came both from central settlement and from above-average increases in private-label and trading-brand business. Furthermore, sales for the current year were clearly in excess of last year's level as of the end of May, in spite of the long winter.
Head office worked together with 918 partner outlets in 2005, and the number of garden centres and independent plant nurseries is given at around 400. The Bellandris group of garden centres has 41 outlets, the System Grün erleben has grown to 82 outlets, and the Gärtnern & Gestalten advertising grouping to 55.
The cooperative set up a growth and investment company in January 2006. Its mission is to develop and safeguard outlets for partner businesses, contribute to companies in the sector in the course of encouraging their expansion, support the financing, and rent floorspace where required. There are plans for up to four new projects this year.
