Forbes has released its new list of the world's best employers in 2022. For the ranking, 150 000 full-time and part-time employees from 57 countries working for multinational companies and institutions were surveyed. Several home improvement retailers from different countries made it into the top 800.
First up is American operator Home Depot, ranked 52nd, followed by French Groupe Adeo at 123rd and American retailer Sherwin-Williams at 147th. Other home improvement retailers include Ace Hardware (ranked 151st, USA), Bauhaus (ranked 170th, Germany), Hornbach Holding (ranked 310th, Germany), Lowe's (ranked 350th, USA) and Kingfisher (ranked 652nd, UK). Also listed are the Rewe Group in 553rd place and the Globus Group in 752nd place, both from Germany.
For the survey, participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employer to friends and family, as well as to rate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively. Aspects for the rating were economic impact and image, talent development, gender equality and social responsibility.
The first ten places were mainly occupied by large technology corporations, including Samsung from South Korea (1st place), Microsoft MSFT (2nd place) and IBM (3rd place). German companies, including BMW Group (13th) and Adidas (16th), occupied 113 places, followed by France with 82 places, which this year overtook China with 68 places. Among the companies assessed, the aerospace and defence industry had the highest average score.
