Although sales of hand-held do-it-yourself and gardening tools and equipment by French manufacturers (B to C) increased by 1 per cent last year, the volume sold fell by 9 per cent and orders were down 11 per cent. This is according to their association Ficime. For the first half of 2023, the industry does not expect a big upswing: an increase of 2.5 per cent in turnover, but a decline of 1 per cent in terms of volume, and a better order situation (+3 per cent).
