Hornbach continues to grow more strongly abroad than in Germany

The 154 Hornbach DIY stores in nine European countries made sales of around € 900.9 mio in the third quarter (1 September to 30 November 2016) and therefore 4.4 percent more than the same period last year. In the first nine months of financial year 2016/2017 they increased sales by 6.0 per cent to € 2.9634 bn. Like-for-like sales net of currency items increased in the third quarter by 3.0 per cent and over the whole three quarters of the year by 4.0 per cent.
The branches of the German DIY store operator continue to record their highest growth in sales outside Germany. Here, like-for-like sales in the third quarter (€ 410.9 mio in total) increased by 3.9 per cent and in the three quarters of the year (€ 1.3306 bn) by 6.1 per cent. In Germany, like-for-like sales growth was 2.2 per cent in the third quarter (€ 490.0 mio) and 2.4 per cent in the three quarters of the year (€ 1.6328 bn).
