According to the company itself, the German DIY store chain Hornbach remains on a growth course, also in the autumn of this year. In both September and October, group sales increased by a good fifth. The executive board has now raised the sales and earnings forecast 2020/21 due to the "very pleasing" sales and earnings performance in the first eight months of the current financial year.
Thus, it is now expected that group sales (previous year: EUR 4.4 bn) will grow between 14 per cent and 18 per cent (previously: 9 per cent and 15 per cent). Depending on the extent of possible Coronavirus effects, the executive board is currently expecting that the adjusted EBIT for financial year 2020/2021 will lie between EUR 240 mio and EUR 310 mio (previously EUR 220 mio and EUR 280 mio) (previous year: EUR 182 mio). So far, the positive sales development is also continuing into November 2020.
