Gardena's parent company Husqvarna expects production to have declined in the first quarter, which is coming to an end. This development particularly affects robotic mowers and lawn tractors. It will lead to a record order backlog, according to the Swedish headquarters. The decline has been caused by the difficulties in global supply chains, with shortages of certain products and longer delivery times. The current geopolitical situation in Europe has led to further logistical disruptions as well as increased costs for raw materials, energy and transport, says the company.
Husqvarna expects net sales of SEK 15 bn (EUR 1.45 bn) for the first quarter overall. This figure, which includes its new subsidiary Orbi Irrigation in the US, is up from SEK 14.0 bn (EUR 1.35 bn) in the same quarter last year.
