The Eisenwarenmesse – International Hardware Fair Cologne (Germany) is making headlines, a year before the event. The event organiser Koelnmesse has been working on the trade fair concept and as a result, has reduced its duration.
The Eisenwarenmesse – International Hardware Fair will only take place on three instead of four days next year, from 6 to 8 March 2016. Koelnmesse justified this step by stating that the fair, which will take place for the 40th time in 2016, has changed and likewise the business behaviour of the national and international trade fair visitors. The average length of time spent at the fair was two days in 2014.
Only just under 15 per cent of the trade visitors made use of the last day of the fair. Consequently, a request was made by the industry to shorten the event. As a reaction to this request, the event duration has been changed to run from Sunday to Tuesday. Products from the tools, industry supplies, mounting and fastening technology as well as fittings and DIY supplies range will continue to be showcased.
A new presentation concept will be integrated into the next trade fair event: the DIY Boulevard. “With the DIY Boulevard, we are offering a format that is optimally suited to the needs of the suppliers,” explained Christoph Werner, Vice President, Koelnmesse. “They will reach the right decision-makers in a very targeted manner in this area.” The number of registrations once again confirms the concept: The DIY Boulevard area is already fully-booked.
‘Competence on the shelves’ is a decisive sales argument in the DIY sector. Suppliers can demonstrate their competence in an authentic POS environment, in shelf metres, on the new DIY Boulevard. Spanning 210 m, the boulevard stretches along the middle of the Hall, in which companies from the construction and DIY market are traditionally represented. The organisers are convinced that this means innovations by the metre for the trade visitors. The boulevard is flanked by the networking area, which will be used by the exhibiting companies for meetings.
