This year will see Eurobrico and Iberflora open to visitors in Valencia from 18 to 20 October. The expectation is for around 400 exhibitors to attend. They cover a broad spectrum of products from the DIY and garden markets with an offer that is divided into five sections: home improvement (furniture, wood, doors, stairs, windows), kitchens/bathrooms (furniture, equipment, accessories, sanitary fittings), hardware/electrical (fixings, tools, strongboxes, locks, electrical, furniture and door hardware, adhesives) and decoration (paint, wall and floor coverings, housewares, lighting). Finally comes “Outdoor DIY” with gardening supplies, building materials and pools.
For the second year running the fair duo will again occupy an area in excess of 20 000 m². The two fairs were staged in combination last year for the first time so that show visitors could be presented with a range of products that was unique and without precedent in its scope so far as the Spanish market was concerned. This event for the DIY and garden sector, the biggest in the Iberian peninsula, is designed to cover both areas of business.
Since it is held in a two-yearly rhythm, Eurobrico should actually not be held again until 2007, but the show is being staged in even years with effect from this year, because Ferroforma/ Bricoforma, the hardware and DIY fair, opens for business in Bilbao in odd years altering with the International Hardware Fair/ Practical World in Cologne.
Fair chief Daniel Marco Blanes promises an enhanced internationally oriented profile for the forthcoming Eurobrico, since a considerable number of representatives of European and Latin American businesses are expected to attend as a result of the Al Invest programme sponsored by the European Commission that is linked to the show. The aim of this programme is to arrange meetings between exhibitors and major retail chains from Europe and Latin America. Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, France, Germany and the United Kingdom are being targeted.
The event will also offer the framework for a meeting of the members of the newly founded Bricoalliance group, which comprises Brico Group (Spain), Mestre Maco (Portugal), Puntolegno (Italy) and Hubo (Belgium). What is more, the Spanish retail group El Corte Ingles is to launch its new “Bricor” DIY retail chain at the event as well.
