The theme of disruption - the official motto of the event in Stockholm two years ago - isn't giving the producers of the Global DIY Summit any peace: it is shaping the congress programme again this year. The sixth edition of the summit will provide all the attendees with inspiring ideas on how to process the constant challenges of this disrupting era and, most likely, with a clear path on how to initialise their own digital transformation, announce the organisers of Edra/Ghin and Fediyma.
The 6th Global DIY Summit on 13 and 14 June in Barcelona is presented under the motto "DIY Next - Reinventing our industry". The programme is split into five main sessions: 1) Global Economic and Political Overview, 2) Challenges for a New Kind of Cooperation - Facing the Future Together, 3) The DIY Next Generation - Disrupting our Industry, 4) Market Update - Latest Industry Figures, 5) Home Improvement around the World.
Whereby the organisers draw attention to two particular highlights: first, a panel discussion between retailers and manufacturers will be organised on the first event's day. Top industry leaders like Véronique Laury (Kingfisher), Sylvain Prud'homme (Lowe's), Jeffrey Lavers (3M), Henning von Boxberg (Bosch), among other prominent speakers, will discuss on a new kind of cooperation within the industry.
The second announced highlight is the third session named "The DIY Next Generation - Disrupting our Industry". In this block will be presented the latest trends worldwide in retail and the new technologies disrupting every business, also, in particular, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.
It will include the second edition of the Startup Arena, where new companies will present themselves, already introducing new products or services into the market. Moreover, Martin Wild, CDO from MediaSaturn, will present the challenges in leading the digital transformation in an organisation. The organisers are convinced: this session will be a huge surprise for those who still don't believe DIY has radically changed in the past decade.
