The Swiss DIY chain Jumbo is expanding their product range to include a - at the moment still - unusual product area: In six pilot locations, Jumbo now sells 3D printers and 3D scanners. A so-called 3D pen, which can be used to draw virtual lines of plastic in the air, so to speak, is available in all Jumbo stores. The company believes that it makes “perfect sense” as a DIY retailer to pick up on this new trend early, as said in a statement: “When it comes down to it, 3D printing is nothing more than do-it-yourself of the 21st century”.
