Kesko net sales in the building and home improvement trade have risen 2.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2022 to EUR 716.0 mio. In the second quarter of 2021, net sales still amounted to EUR 699.2 mio. The operating profit for the building and home improvement trade fell during the same period to EUR 53.5 mio, after EUR 62.1 mio in 2021. In the first half year of 2022, building and home improvement trade sales grew by 8.6 per cent to EUR 1 280.7 mio.
In Finland, Kesko’s building and home improvement trade net sales rose by 5.5 per cent to EUR 345 mio in the second quarter 2022. In Sweden, K-Rauta net sales declined by 4.7 per cent to EUR 66.3 mio, while K-Bygg net sales rose by 22.3 per cent to EUR 105.6 mio. In Norway, the distribution line Byggmakker lost 7.9 per cent in net sales to EUR 199.9 mio.
Net sales for the building and technical trade division increased by 8.6 per cent, or by 8.3 per cent in comparable terms. Net sales development in terms of euro was increased by the strengthening of the Norwegian krone against the euro, and decreased by the weakening of the Swedish krona and the Polish zloty against the euro.
