Sales at the 270 Landi stores in Switzerland fell by 1.2 per cent year-on-year to CHF1.528 bn (EUR 1.535 bn) in 2022. Commenting on the figures, Ernst Hunkeler, CEO of Landi Switzerland, says: "In the first year after the Covid pandemic and in this difficult environment, the result achieved is pleasing for us."
In the garden range, raised beds and products for irrigation were in high demand. The company also saw increased demand for pet articles, particularly dog and cat food. The threat of electricity shortages was also felt, with customers increasingly stocking up on fuels such as pellets, firewood and heating briquettes, according to a press release.
