Leroy Merlin remains in Russia and writes to its suppliers

Leroy Merlin will remain active in Russia. The DIY chain, which belongs to the French DIY market leader Adeo and is the market leader in Russia, has confirmed this in a letter to its suppliers. This was reported by the Interfax news agency. The letter calls on suppliers to act in a spirit of partnership during the crisis. There should be no contractual penalties for delayed deliveries. The company is looking for alternatives for products that are currently experiencing delivery problems.
The company is also active in Ukraine and operates six DIY stores there. Under the motto "Together we care", the group of companies supports relief actions by employees in other countries for their colleagues in Ukraine. For example, it finances the transport of Leroy Merlin employees who have fled to Poland or Romania to other countries and accommodation there. The LinkedIn post reads, "Adeo companies welcome Leroy Merlin employees arriving
from Ukraine at the Polish and Romanian borders and covers transport and accommodation in Adeo European countries." However, the company is heavily criticised on LinkedIn, for example, for continuing to do business in Russia.

There are reports in the Russian DIY sector that many manufacturers have stopped deliveries. Price increases of 30 per cent are expected. Price increases are also on the cards for building materials.
