Obi has filled a new executive board position. Manuel van de Kamp is the new chief product officer (CPO) at Obi Group Holding SE & Co. KGaA. He has been with the German DIY retail market leader since 2013 and was most recently responsible for the digital transformation unit Obi next as managing director. The appointment was made on 1 November 2022. In his new role as CPO, van de Kamp is to further drive the digitalisation of Obi's entire ecosystem and the dovetailing of the stationary business with the online business.
At the beginning of his career at Obi, van de Kamp set up the Munich instant delivery facility. He was subsequently responsible for the Obi garden planner as well as the development of the platform heyObi. Together with CEO Sebastian Gundel, he built up Obi next; this organisational unit is seen as playing a decisive role in the transformation process of the Obi Group.
In addition to Manuel van de Kamp and CEO Sebastian Gundel, the Obi executive board includes Gonn Weide as chief commercial officer, Franz-Peter Tepa as chief officer CE and Oliver Geiling as chief financial officer. The role of chief operations officer is currently still open. As soon as this role is filled, the board will be complete.
