The Dutch Maxeda DIY Group is now a member of the European purchasing group Arena. Membership concerns the sourcing of DIY, garden and home improvement products, however excluding Asia.
Maxeda is the eighth retailer in the Arena alliance. The other members so far are Hagebau (Germany), Le Groupement Les Mousquetaires (France), Jumbo (Switzerland), Bricofer (Italy), Baucenter (Russia), Dedeman (Romania) and Pevec (Croatia).
Maxeda DIY Group operates 347 stores across the Benelux with over 7 000 employees and three DIY formats: Praxis in the Netherlands, Brico in Belgium and Luxembourg and Brico Planit in Belgium. The majority of their stores have between 3 000 m² - 5 000 m² sales area, operating as Praxis (191 stores), Brico (144 stores) and Brico Planit (12 stores).
