More outdoor DIY projects in the fourth quarter

The Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) conducts a quarterly survey of 2 000 homeowners to track their current and planned renovation projects. The results are incorporated into the Home Improvement Project Activity Tracker.

Among other things, the survey shows that outdoor projects and kitchen remodels in particular were tackled by homeowners even late in the year. HIRI also observed the average costs of various project categories over the year and found fluctuations especially in DIY projects in the bathroom.
