The garden market in Germany is regarded as stable – in spite of the temperamental nature of the weather. A reduced sensitivity to cyclical changes makes up for this. Germans love their green living rooms. Which adds to the attraction for suppliers, including those from abroad, to participate in this market. However, entering a market as highly developed as the German one is anything but simple. Introducing itself at Spoga+Gafa was a company that can help to clear this very hurdle. A company? Greennet actually consists of eight companies: 1a-tv.de mediaplacement (radio and film production), 5P Marketing Development (strategic marketing), cybob communication (internet), Dachser (logistics), First Brands International (distribution of new products), Ising International Consulting (executive search), L&S (event organisation) and Mick PR (public relations). As a consequence the spectrum of support ranges from strategic and operational marketing through to clarification of the right product features for the German market and of all logistical requirements, as well as to human resources management and the installation of a distribution network. “Key accounters will even take on the negotiations during listing discussions if requested to do so,” says Ulrich Küppers, network coordinator. The mode of operation is always the same: specialists working independently of each other form a project team, which is put together according to what is required. “Rapid coordination and interdisciplinary working make for results that the client sees as economically efficient and effective” is one way of describing the basic idea.
