New on the board of directors

Helen Johnson-Leipold, 49, has been appointed to Home Depot's board of directors. She is chairman and CEO of Johnson Outdoors and chairman of the Johnson Financial Group. Her nomination is part of the succession process on the Home Depot board, necessary because four of the current incumbents are due to retire within the next 18 months. Once a board member reaches the age of 72, he or she cannot be nominated again.
