Design and safety
Socona has managed to combine security with creative design in its “MOST” door retainer system. Responsibility for the aesthetic side is claimed by designer Laurent Ferragu. The product is made from Zamac ZL5 and additional security is provided by reinforced screws. A patented device allows the retainer to be pulled down vertically against the door frame so that the door cannot be locked by accident. The system is available in six different finishes to suit all the different styles of interior design.

Fire without smoke
“Windsor”, the new name in electric fireplace units from Glen Dimplex, achieves the effect of flames without any smoke, soot or risk of fire. The unit is simply placed in the hearth of a traditional built-in fireplace or stove and adapted to the size required by means of adjustable flaps. The unit can be used all year round, in the summer as well, since it does not generate any heat. It is suitable for installation in all the currently popular types of fireplaces and stoves. For most models the cord can be laid out of sight through the vent. The 12 V device conforms to the VDE and TÜV GS safety standards. The manufacturers also offer the fireplace unit in two other sizes, “Dunleer” and “Longford”. The “Leipzig” model, which was developed for open stoves and hearths, has a heating unit that can be switched on for warmth.

All in a carry case
Skil has launched four new “Smart Sets”. The Jigsaw 4260 set is appropriate for all types of woodworking and the Jigsaw 4375 offers a complete set for floor-laying jobs. Added to these are the Hammer Drill 6370 and Hammer Drill 6453 sets. The power tools are supplied in a handy plastic carry case with a separate compartment for attachments. The many extra elements are clearly visible in their transparent plastic set positioned on the outside of the case. It is possible to get at the accessories without opening the entire tool carry case.
