The Nordic Timber Council has announced a change in strategy. As director Jan Söderlind said, the organisation aims in future not only to promote the sale of specifically Nordic timber but to work for the “all-round promotion of timber as a material”. Sales are to be promoted “through pan-European projects – and by means of close cooperation with organisations and partners in other European countries”. Currently a campaign with a total budget of six million euro is running in the United Kingdom under the slogan of “wood.for good”. British partners have contributed more than a million euros to the campaign, which is scheduled to last for three years.
