Power tool industry in France expects further growth

Manufacturers of do-it-yourself and garden tools in France continued to see growth in the first six months of 2022. This is according to the half-year figures of the manufacturers' association Fédération des entreprises internationales de la mécanique et de l'électronique (Ficime). Compared to the same period last year, sales rose by 9.5 per cent and orders by 2 per cent. For the segment that is oriented to professionals and property investment projects, the development looks somewhat worse. Here, sales fell by 2.5 per cent compared to the same period last year but were still 19 per cent higher than in 2019.

Growth is expected for both in the second half of the year. A plus of 6 per cent is forcast in the consumer segment, and 4.5 per cent in the professional segment.
