Baltic Wood sees itself as one of the most rapidly growing manufacturers of hardwood flooring. The Polish company, which is part of the Nowy Styl group, was founded in 1999; production began one year later. The years between 2003 and 2005 saw a continuous expansion of the company's production capacity, the development of new product lines and opening up of sales markets all over the world. At present the company exports parquet flooring to 26 countries. As a result of the most recent investments, the FSC-certified company has increased its production capacity to 2.5 mio m² of parquet per year; it expects to attain a volume of 3.6 mio m² by 2008, and 4.8 mio m² by 2009. The raw materials are processed on the latest generation of computerised production lines. Featuring carefully selected timber, laser-controlled measurement and comprehensive quality control at every phase, the production process is designed to fulfil the highest quality standards of this ISO 9001-certified flooring specialist. Baltic Wood offers a range specifically for the DIY market: a three-layer parquet in two versions (1.090 x 182 x 14 or 10.5 mm) for glueless laying by means of Baltic's LOC system, which is available under license to Berry Group and Välinge Innovation AB. The advantages of such a system mean that any mistakes made during installation can be easily corrected, and any damaged panels can be replaced without difficulty. What is more, the entire floor can be dismantled and re-laid in a new location as well. This block parquet is available as plank or strip flooring in 18 different kinds of European or exotic wood including oak, ash, jatoba, merbau and wenge. There is also a wide range of finishes to choose from: oiled (light, dark or transparent), lacquered (matt or semi-matt) or a stained version (light or dark). The parquet is supplied boxed. The company offers a variety of brands for the DIY chains to choose from for their POS displays, or own brands can also be produced on demand.
