In DIY stores, the risk of a Covid-19 infection is similar to that of outdoors. This has now been confirmed by a scientific study from Germany. It originates from Prof. Eberhard Bodenschatz from the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization (MPI-DS) in Göttingen. Its key statement: even “if the number of customers is within the typical capacity for DIY stores, such facilities are safe for customers as long as certified face masks are worn. It is to be expected that these results can also apply to other large interiors.” “The results speak for the immediate removal of restrictions on access to our stores,” demands Peter Wüst, general director of the German industry association BHB.
