Successful start The first Ifex (International Flower Expo) was open for business in Tokyo between 14 and 16 October. Altogether 313 exhibitors, 74 from abroad (19 countries) were represented at this international plant and garden trade fair in Japan. European exhibitors came from Belgium, France, Britain, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. There was an enormous influx of visitors to the initial event: 20 388 visitors registered during the three days of the fair. 504 visitors came to Tokyo from abroad (39 countries). The exhibitors were extremely satisfied with the results of the fair and reported well-filled order books. The majority of them have already booked their stand space for the next fair in 2005, and in most cases it will be considerably bigger. And quite a few companies that did not have a stand in 2004 have already registered for the coming event. About 400 firms had booked their exhibition space for 2005 by the end of the show. Ifex will be held at the Big Sight in Tokyo from 20 to 22 October in 2005.
More than 20 000 trade visitors attended the first Ifex event in Tokyo.
