Do aspects of sustainability affect the choice of shopping location for DIY store customers? The market research company USP Marketing Consultancy asked consumers in eleven European countries this question - and gained the following result: the Italians most frequently specified that their choice is very probably or probably affected by whether the respective trading company distinguishes itself when it comes to sustainability. The Spanish followed at second place. Bringing up the rear were Germany and the Netherlands. In the European average, 14 per cent replied with "very probably" and 40 per cent with "probably". However the researchers specifically point out that only the intention was surveyed. When it comes down to actual shopping, they say, many consumers would make the choice of shopping location based more on the aspect of convenience than sustainability.
