Pricing is one of the most important disciplines that a trader has to master in today's world, in order to keep ahead of the competition - for both online and brick-and-mortar companies. The fact that this task needs to be tackled in almost all national markets is shown by the list of customers at the US company Revionics, which sees itself as a profit optimisation company and is specialised in such software. Both the Mexican subsidiary of the global market leader Home Depot as well as Obi's Polish national company, the number three in Europe, have been amongst its list of customers since last year.
Obi has selected for its Polish entity Revionics Price Suite, Promotion Suite and Markdown Suite to leverage demand-based science and analytics, to deliver targeted, meaningful pricing and promotions that inspire customer loyalty while delivering top-line and bottom-line results.
Since the German-based company first opened a Polish store in 1997, the business has expanded steadily to encompass 46 stores of Obi's more than 650 stores across Central and Eastern Europe. Obi Poland is relying on new software from the USA in seeking to tap an end-to-end merchandise optimisation system, centralise disparate systems and accelerate existing double-digit growth rates.
Revionics is notable for its advanced predictive analytics and demand-based science, enabling retailers to be more responsive to shoppers' needs across all touch points in the shopping journey - online, in-store, social and mobile - and more profitably. In particular, Obi Poland embraced the idea of a phased approach that would enable them to adopt each solution suite in turn, culminating in a successfully integrated end-to-end responsive merchandising solution.
Such a solution is now also being introduced on the other side of the Atlantic. Building on its promise "to provide the highest level of service, the broadest selection of products and the most competitive prices," The Home Depot Mexico has selected Revionics Price Suite to deliver more consistent, competitive and customer-centric pricing across its 119 stores throughout the country.
