Münster does not intend to re-invent greenhouse staging, just to “always have something new to offer the customer“. This is how managing director Mirko Münster formulates the aspirations of his company, which is based in Reichstädt near Dresden.
This supplier of fittings for garden centres has expanded its programme this year again. The aluminium profiles for the whole range of staging are available not only in a bright finished or powder-coated in any RAL colour, but also in an imitation wood finish.
One of the most important technical developments is the automatic watering system that Münster put on the market in 2001. This is designed to operate from just one central water source. The water is distributed to the staging by means of arches that bridge the aisles between the rows . If the staging is divided into sections, the watering system can be directed separately to each section and the water can be regulated according to the performance target.
Here Münster puts the emphasis on the fact that all the products in the range are part of a complete programme from which customers can select and combine the elements that they require. Additions to the programme, such as the hanging basket stands, tiered staging and aluminium awnings, are consequently designed so that they can be added to existing facilities without causing any disruption. There is yet another aspect to flexibility: through collaborating with individual customers, Münster is continuously developing individual series that are tailored to the needs of different DIY and garden centre chains. As an add-on to the watering system, Münster offers a service contract. Before the new season begins, a service engineer will visit the stores, and towards the end of the year he will come round to prepare the system to withstand the winter. What is more, he is in a position to train a member of the garden centre staff right on the spot.
The Münster Gewächshaustische company was established in Dresden at the end of 1993. A beginning was made with production greenhouses, but the company quickly became a big player in the niche market of greenhouse staging, where it is now one of the leading suppliers in Europe. Among the supplier’s specialities are arched or bent profiles, which give the company a unique position in the marketplace. The firm employs a workforce of around 25.
