The latest trends in the sphere of home textiles and floor coverings can be seen at Heimtextil in Frankfurt and Domotex in Hannover
Heimtextil is regarded as the definitive global ordering and orientation point for textiles for home improvement and home style. Its significance is highlighted not least by the highly cosmopolitan mix of exhibitors (76 per cent from abroad) and visitors (45 per cent from abroad).
Consumer behaviour with regard to home textiles will also be surveyed once again at Heimtextil 2001, with the subject of beds/bedrooms/sleep under the microscope this time. The partner country at Heimtextil 2001 will be Portugal.
The leading fair for carpets and floor coverings, Domotex, is taking place in Hannover from 13 to 16 January. 1 075 exhibitors are expected to take part, roughly as many as the previous year, occupying a net exhibition area of 94 000 m². As for the previous event, the organisers are anticipating 40 000 visitors in 2001 also, with 40 per cent coming from overseas.
The exhibition range includes hand-made carpets, woven carpets, textile and elastic floor coverings (for the first time in Hall 4), parquet and laminate flooring (Hall 7 and 8), application, laying and care aspects and product presentation.
Domotex will have a more international flavour: exhibitors from 60 countries are coming to Hannover, making the overseas quota almost 70 per cent. Foreign companies are occupying 60 per cent of the overall exhibition area.
