Hardware retailers have achieved high scores in a survey of 10 000 consumers in the USA conducted by Temkin Experience Ratings. Ace Hardware had the highest ranking of all non-food retailers and was close to the best of all retailers evaluated. The ranking was based on consumers' satisfaction with stores' success in stocking what they wanted, making it easy to find merchandise and providing a satisfying shopping experience.
Three other hardware retailers ranked next in a cluster separated by points - Menards with a rating of 79, True Value with 78 and Home Depot with a rating of 77. Lowe's got a 74 rating.
The study explained that ratings of 70 and above are considered "good" and a rating of 80 or more is considered "excellent". In all, 318 retailers in 20 different fields were evaluated in the study.
