Only three DIY retailers number among the 400 wealthiest Americans

There are 20 retailers among the 400 wealthiest Americans, but no more than three from the DIY sector. According to the 2012 list compiled by Forbes magazine John Menard, proprietor of the Menard’s chain, has achieved a fortune of US $ 7.5 bn. The joint founders of Home Depot, Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank, are listed at US $ 3.3 bn and US $ 1.7 bn respectively.
