The special surface treatment process used on Antistatic prevents the development of any electrostatic effect.
There is a great variety of products, including the 8 mm classic flooring in the Profloor range that is quick and easy to lay without glue, as well as Prestofloor in 50 different patterns in natural shades, limed or brightly coloured finishes. There are also laminates in the tiling look, in addition to damp-resistant or sound-insulated flooring as well. All types of flooring are for loose-laying without glues, apart from the Profloor Classics range, which is offered in over 60 different decors, in traditional wood finishes or in a choice of colours.
New to the programme is Antistatic, a laminate flooring for which a patent has been applied. This is surface-treated by a process that prevents the development of any kind of electrostatic effect. Also new is XL in oak, beech or maple, and in the tile look. Rounding off these new products is Rustic, a laminate flooring with a finish that has the structure of natural woodgrain.
Laminate flooring is the mainstay of the group’s sales, accounting for 61 per cent of the 136 mio euro generated in 2001. Exports are sent to more than 52 different countries. A network of distributors was already established in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands in 1995, the year of the company’s formation, and just one year later saw the first exports to China.
Rustic has a surface that imitates the structure of natural woodgrain.
However, laminate flooring is not the group’s only cornerstone: also developed and manufactured here are self-assembly furniture and furniture components, which are also soon to be distributed throughout Europe.
Today the group has a customer base of approximately 3 000 companies, 40 per cent of which are outside France. Supplies go mainly to DIY superstores and furniture chains, which make up 40 per cent of EPI’s customers.
