The German DIY chain Bauhaus has joined forces with its Turkish colleagues from its store in Ankara/Etlik to organise relief supplies worth EUR 100 000 as immediate aid for the crisis region in southeast Turkey and northern Syria. Germany's second-largest DIY store operator has been operating in Turkey since 1996 and has ten stores there.
In addition, Bauhaus Germany, with the support of its suppliers, is putting together an aid convoy with items such as power generators, heaters and machinery, which are to be transported directly to Turkey by several semitrailer trucks at the beginning of this week. On site, the Turkish colleagues will take over the coordination of the direct aid. The aim is to ensure that material reaches the crisis region directly and in line with requirements, in coordination with the official agencies.
