In contrast, Castorama puts a figure of € 1.540 bn on the volume of business in Britain, which corresponds to growth of 21.4 per cent and 5.6 per cent like-for-like. According to these figures, sales of € 754.8 mio were achieved in France, amounting to eight per cent (or 2.1 per cent on comparable areas) more than in the same period last year. Sales in the other countries are given as € 365.1 mio; the increase comes to 36.9 per cent, and ten per cent like-for-like. Kingfisher distanced itself from the Castorama figures immediately upon their publication.
