But DIY & Hardware is more than just a show of products; it offers a great number of accompanying events as well. On a separate area in Hall 11 visitors are given the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and test for themselves how easy it is to use or install the products. On 16 September Quorum Uitgevers will be holding a mini-congress on the subject of “Future channels for the retail trade”. The fair also offers a platform for the annual presentation of the “Karwei Marketing Awards”, prizes that are awarded to the best-selling products.
The concept behind this fair originated in Belgium and, as was the case there, trade visitors are invited to enjoy a lunch on the house.
The organisation of DIY & Hardware is in the hands of two firms, the Belgian Kortrijk Xpo and the Netherlands Jaarbeurs Exhibitions & Media. The organisers are convinced that fair participation will enable companies to profit from the enormous potential offered by the DIY market in the Netherlands. This DIY and hardware market has an annual turnover of almost 3.5 bn euro. The organisers expect several thousand buyers from DIY superstores, the building materials sector, specialist hardware and tool retailers, paint and wallpaper stores, garden centres and similar retail outlets to attend the event.
In Hall 11 visitors are given the opportunity to test products on the spot.
