Europeanisation of MTD’s distribution

MTD Products AG of Saarbrücken, the manufacturer of garden implements, is expanding its distribution network in Europe through a branch in Switzerland and a joint venture in Belgium. The latter involved the company founding MTD Benelux in collaboration with its existing importer, A. Verbeke NV of Tielt. In Switzerland the supplier has taken over the garden equipment division of Rapid, its existing importer, and converted it into a sales agency of its own, MTD Schweiz AG. The Saarbrücken company is the European headquarters of MTD Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio (USA).
