A geographical focus of all home improvement retailers in Poland is the region (voivodeship) of Mazovia around the capital Warsaw. Here, location leader Mrówka operates 43 and thus 12 per cent of its stores. Leroy Merlin has 15 per cent (twelve stores), Obi even 18 per cent (eleven stores).

But Warsaw in the centre of the country is not the only focus. In the southwest and west, Silesia with Katowice as the regional capital as well as Lower Silesia around Wrocław are regions in which the DIY operators are strongly involved. Castorama, for example, operates most of its Polish locations, namely 14 stores (15 per cent), in Silesia. Leroy Merlin has ten stores (13 per cent) each in Silesia and Lower Silesia. For Bricomarché, Lower Silesia is the region with the most locations (18; 10 per cent).
