Landi’s net earnings up by 5.5 per cent

The 270 Landi stores in Switzerland grew their sales in 2020 by 5.5 per cent over the previous year to CHF 1.472 bn (EUR 1.361 bn). The e-commerce channel made a substantial contribution to the increase, according to a press release.
Strong demand was experienced across all distribution channels by the cooperative retail chain, especially with regard to garden articles, bicycles and pools. Products of Swiss origin were extremely popular, including Swiss timber products.
Due primarily to the coronavirus pandemic, Landi retailers report a significant advance in their e-commerce sales. Following a sharp rise in online orders during the lockdown in spring 2020, the following months also saw an increase of around 60 per cent in orders compared with the previous year.
