The 14th Taiwan Hardware Show from 21 to 23 October 2014 recorded a significant increase in visitors. The show took place for the second time in Taichung, which is Taiwan's third largest city in the west of the country. It recorded quite easily 350 exhibitors on an exhibition area of 12 500 m²; that was around 15 per cent more companies than in the previous year. In total, more than 25 000 trade visitors were counted on the three show days, which amounts to an increase of 7.3 per cent. The event organiser Kaigo was particularly satisfied with the above average increase of twelve per cent to almost 3 700 foreign visitors, who came from 67 countries. Hand and power tools were once again the biggest and most important focus of the show's products, which is not surprising considering that the greater Taichung area is the centre of the Taiwanese handicraft industry and location for numerous internationally active companies in the Do-It-Yourself and professional tool area. The second most important exhibition area was for garden tools and accessories. In addition, ironmongery, locks and fittings, security supplies, building materials as well as other do-it-yourselfer products were on show.
