Toolstation stores' sales in the first quarter were 6.0 per cent lower than in the same period last year. This was announced by the British building materials retailer Travis Perkins. According to its quarterly report, these figures reflect a tough prior year comparator and the return of Toolstation's customer mix to its core trade base, which continues to appreciate the value and convenience of the customer proposition. Management is confident that business drivers will normalise going into the second half of the year as the comparable period passes the lifting of pandemic restrictions.
