The Wesfarmers Group in Australia, which also includes DIY market leader Bunnings, has acquired the online retailer Catch Group. This company operates an online business model offering branded products on a first-party basis and a third-party marketplace. It will continue to work as an independent business unit, but now under the oversight of Ian Bailey, managing director of Kmart Group. The acquisition is also consistent with the group's focus on investing in and building its data and digital capabilities, the company says.
